This year, our Excellence in Construction Awards mark a milestone worth celebrating. As ABC San Diego turns 50, the EIC Awards take center stage at our 50th Anniversary Gala, a once-in-a-lifetime black-tie celebration of five decades of merit shop construction in San Diego. The awards recognize contractors whose work stands out for innovation, quality, safety, technical skill, and standout project management. If your team built something worth celebrating this year, this is where it gets its moment, on a night unlike any we’ve hosted before.
Winners will be announced at ABC San Diego’s Excellence in Construction Awards & 50th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Kona Kai Resort on Shelter Island.
What’s New This Year
- No cost to submit. For the first time, project submissions are completely free.
- Submissions do not include event tickets. A ticket is required to attend the awards ceremony and gala.
What Gets Recognized
The EIC Awards honor outstanding projects and companies across a range of categories, judged on innovation and design, technical ability, safety, project management, and overall quality of construction. Contractors of all sizes and specialties are encouraged to enter their best work.
Eagle and Merit Awards are presented across project categories, with a Best Overall Project recognized among the top submissions.
Construction Workforce Awards
Alongside project recognition, we celebrate the people who make the work happen. Finalists will be featured and winners announced at the ceremony across four categories:
- Project Manager of the Year
- Superintendent of the Year
- Tradesperson of the Year
- Young Professional of the Year

- Awards Ceremony & 50th Gala: Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Kona Kai Resort
Registering your project and completing your submission are both required for your entry to count. Both steps must be finished by August 15.
The Evening
The ceremony is part of ABC San Diego’s 50th Anniversary Gala, a black-tie celebration marking five decades of merit shop construction in San Diego. Expect a multimedia presentation featuring every submission, plus a night of recognition, entertainment, and toast-worthy moments alongside industry leaders.

- 7:00 p.m. EIC Awards, Construction Workforce Awards, and Special Anniversary Program
